Luther Vandross / Never Too Much SDE-exclusive blu-ray

#22 in the SDE Surround Series

Own Luther’s classic debut on blu-ray with Dolby Atmos & 96/24 hi-res stereo • Available now • Quick pre-order

Luther Vandross’ 1981 debut Never Too Much is No 22 in the going SDE Surround Series of blu-ray audios.

Mostly composed and produced by Vandross himself, this classic and much-loved album reached #19 in the Billboard album charts and launched Vandross’ highly successful solo career.

Highlights of Never Too Much include the timeless title track, the second single ‘Don’t You Know That’ and the beautiful seven minute cover of the Bacharach & David-penned Dionne Warwick song ‘A House Is Not A Home’. The album was nominated for two Grammy awards in 1982 (Best New Artist and Best R&B Vocal Performance, Male).

The SDE-exclusive blu-ray features a Dolby Atmos Mix of Never Too Much and a hi-res stereo (96/24) flat transfer that was done especially for this release in 2023. Both are only available physically on this blu-ray.

Additionally, the original 12-inch mix of the ‘Never Too Much’ single (the only song remixed/extended from the album) is added as a 96/24 stereo bonus track. This remix is currently out of print and not available on streaming.

The Never Too Much blu-ray comes in the usual SDE ‘High Fidelity Pure Audio’ packaging and includes a booklet with newly commissioned notes from Alexis Petridis, chief rock and pop writer for The Guardian (and occasional SDE reviewer). The blu-ray comes with a FREE SDE Surround Series slipcase.

This exclusive edition is an SDE collaboration with Sony Music and is of course approved by the Luther Vandross Estate
