New studio album
Morrissey will release a new studio album, Make-Up is a Lie in February.
His 14th studio album features 12 tracks and is produced by Joe Chiccarelli, who has worked on the last four Morrissey albums that have been officially released. Songs include ‘The Night Pop Dropped’, ‘Notre-Dame’, ‘The Monsters of Pig Alley’, a cover of Roxy Music’s ‘Amazona’ (from 1973’s Stranded) and the title track, which you can preview below.
The album features musicians including Jesse Tobias, Camila Grey, Carmen Vandenberg, Juan Galeano, Alain Whyte, Gustavo Manzur, and Brendan Buckley, some of whom earn songwriting credits on various tracks. Formats include blue vinyl, indie-exclusive red vinyl, CD and a Zoetrope picture disc
Make-Up is a Lie is being issued through Sire/Warner Records and will be released on 27 February 2026.
Bonfire of Teenagers, the album Morrissey recorded before this one, in 2020 and 2021 (with producer Andrew Watt), remains unreleased.
