Save a fortune on the Queen Live at the Rainbow super deluxe

buy5queen_rainbow_deal

Want to buy the Queen Live at the Rainbow four-disc super deluxe box set? Me too. But do you want to pay £113 for the pleasure? Not particularly.

The good news for those who live in what we like to call ‘rip-off Britain’ is that you can order this set from Amazon Canada for almost one quarter of the price that Amazon UK have it listed at.

Yes, at the time of writing this set is $54.74 Canadian, which at today’s exchange rates is less than £30!! Even if you end up paying import duty at 20% plus some trumped up ‘admin’ fee of, say, £12 you are still going to get this set for less than half the currently advertised UK price.

A couple of words of caution before you proceed. Amazon Canada can be a bit flaky when it comes to availability (who’s still waiting for their John Mellencamp 1978-2012 box set?) and also it does seem unlikely that the UK price will remain north of £100 between now and September, although having said that I thought that about OasisDefinitely Maybe box and that didn’t drop at all, until AFTER it was released.

If vinyl is your bag, the 4LP vinyl Queen box is similarly cheap on the Canadian site.

Queen Live at the Rainbow is released on 8 September 2014. All the format details can be found here.

[…] a 60-page book and lots of memorabilia items. It’s still not as good a deal as the stunning Canadian price, but on the other hand if you’re in the UK/EU you have no (or low) shipping costs, no worry […]

Its been quoted on the official queen message boards (from official sources) that the DVD’s are region free and are in NTSC format

Andy

From recollection, all previous Queen DVDs were region free. I cannot confirm this is true for Blu-Ray.

I reading reading an interview where the guitarist said he was against putting region-blocks on DVDs.

Hans

Me too am waiting for the John m box. Latest news july 22nd. Also ordered queen now. And if blu ray is region a I could copy it. The DVD is no problem as I have a region free DVD and blu ray player. The latter undoubtedly only for DVDs

Tim

Yep….I’m still waiting for the John Mellencamp….and waiting….and waiting….

Got a promotional code saving me 20 % at jpc.de. The price ended up atd 88 euros including postage (and no risk of being charged of import duty and administration fee, which is remarkable high in Denmark, where I live).

The normal price – excl. postage – for the box set is currently set at 103 euros (or 82,5 GBP) http://www.jpc.de/jpcng/poprock/detail/-/art/queen-live-at-the-rainbow/hnum/5434170 not equal to the Canadian offer, though.

Fredo

Will DVD/Blu-ray be region 1? – Then it would be useless for me …?

Billy

That is a very good deal but I’m sticking with the individual Blu-ray and double CD from Amazon UK, which covers all the audio and video in the box at £27.98 for both currently.

Andy

Paul,

I just ordered the CD version for 34 pounds, with standard shipping to the UK. Thanks very much for mentioning this.

This is the best deal of the day I’ve ever seen.

Cheers,
Andy

Wow … that is what you call a Deal Of The Day. Thanks Paul, once again, for passing on those amazing deals. Even with the fastest shipping, it’s a real bargain. So fingers crossed, they will honour and have enough stock of this. Still it’s worth a gamble.
