Faith nearly sold out
The George Michael Faith SDE exclusive blu-ray is released next week. It looks and sounds fantastic, but be warned this is likely to be sold out by the time we get to Friday, 20 February, so if you haven’t secured your copy yet, this is me warning you to get on with it. Don’t forget, as well as the Faith album in Atmos, 5.1 and stereo, this blu-ray has over an hour of stereo bonus tracks including some rare promo-only mixes of ‘Monkey’ and an unreleased-on-CD radio edit of ‘Hard Day’.
The two Heaven 17 blu-rays are still available (Penthouse and Pavement and The Luxury Gap) as is Mark Knopfler and Emmylou Harris’ All The Roadrunning and the repress of Tears For Fears’ The Hurting, if you are looking for something to bundle Faith with.
All The Roadrunning is actually a beautiful record. I was listening to it the other day to approve the blu-ray and absolutely loved it. Tracks like ‘Love and Happiness’, ‘Beyond My Wildest Dreams’ and ‘If This Is Goodbye’ are lovely and affecting. The unreleased 5.1 mix is really, really good. If you want to order any of these titles, head to the SDE shop or use the buttons below.

Ask Heaven 17 Atmos mixer, David Kosten, a question…
Talking of Heaven 17, I know many of you are very interested in the process of remixing a classic album in Dolby Atmos and I’m pleased to say that David Kosten who is fresh from doing both Penthouse and Pavement and The Luxury Gap has agreed to answer SDE readers’ questions on this subject. As David said recently on his Instagram feed “From the 8-track minimalism of ‘Let’s All Make A Bomb’ to the 72-track 3-tape headfuck of ‘Temptation’ (with full orchestra and 24-tracks of vocals) this was both an education and a joy to work on”.
Make sure you have got your order in for these two amazing albums on blu-ray and please leave a question for David in the comments below and we’ll be posting late next week in response, full of juicy details about how the process works!

Man on the Run review coming to SDE
I was lucky enough to see a preview of Morgan Neville’s forthcoming Paul McCartney documentary Man on the Run, on Thursday night. The film runs for two hours and tells the story of a post-Beatles Macca finding his feet again in the 1970s, initially as a solo artist and then with Wings. I will be writing my review over this weekend, which will be published on SDE early next week. What I will say is that Morgan Neville is a brilliant documentary filmmaker. If you haven’t seen his Steve Martin documentary ‘STEVE! (martin) a documentary in 2 pieces‘ from 2024 (it’s on Apple TV) I’d highly recommend it. Similarly, Breakdown: 1975 (on Netflix) from last year, which explores the year 1975 “through the lens of arts and culture” is also excellent.
