Bjork's entire back catalogue issued on limited edition coloured vinyl

vespertine

In celebration of Björk’s mid-career retrospective at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, and the release of the Björk: Archives book, One Little Indian is reissuing the Icelandic singer-songwriter’s entire back catalogue as limited edition COLOURED 180g vinyl pressings.

The coloured vinyl records are limited to 5000 copies worldwide after which they revert to good old black vinyl. The record label haven’t specified the colours, they simply stated that each record will be coloured to the hue that “personifies that album character”.

The seven albums are Debut, Post, Homogenic, Vespertine, Medulla, Volta, and Biophilia. The last four records are double vinyl with Verspertine coming in a gatefold sleeve. They all come with MP3 downloads.

Björk’s limited edition coloured vinyl records are released on 9 March 2015.

the MOMA book is nice, but looks like it’s just an overview of the albums, with a few pictures of her in outfits, and some video stills.

i don’t think it’s very comprehensive.

still, it’s a pretty cool package.

Is the book already out? When I got the OLI email it was pre-orderable from amazon for cheap, then it was gone. I see it’s in stock at the MOMA. Did amazon sell their stock already? Is the book worth getting`? Is it like the PSB’s Catalogue?

I wouldn’t hold out hope on too many being available at MoMA. I’ve heard there won’t be a huge stock of vinyl in their shop, and they’re likely to go quickly. Not even sure that Amazon would actually get them in stock, so OLI would be the best bet. Amoeba.com had them briefly but most have been removed from pre-order already as they’ve sold most of their allotment.

and Francis, aside from bonus b-side discs to accompany each album, she’s had all sorts of reissues and repackages of her albums. check out the DualDisc editions from a while back – they’re still pretty available and have 5.1 plus all the videos from each era.

I have an original of Post and that is in pink vinyl.

The catalog for the MoMA exhibition is available for purchase in the museum’s webstore:

I’m a member and receive a discount. I wouldn’t be surprised if these vinyls show up there eventually. The MoMA shop sold the Kraftwerk box set during their eight-night residency in April of 2012.

Yes at the moment and a week ago, they were 14.99 on OLI’s website, much cheaper than amazon

Francis

I would prefer CD/DVD Deluxe Editions!

Paul – One Little Indian’s website has these much cheaper than amazon

Colours are as follows for those interested.

debut – beige, silver
post – pink
homogenic – green
vespertine – white
medulla – black, dark brown
volta – red, neon green
biophilia – copper, electric blue

If you were lucky enough to get in a few weeks ago when they were launched on the One Little Indian Store, they were all £13.99 including the double one’s – a 2 day launch promotion and a very tidy saving as well, shipping was very reasonable as well (less than £4 for the 3 I ordered)
