De La Soul’s 1989 album, 3 Feet High and Rising, is now available to pre-order as an SDE exclusive blu-ray audio.

3 Feet High and Rising was the debut studio album from the renowned hip hop trio, and the first of three full length collaborations with producer Prince Paul, which would become the critical and commercial peak of both artists.  

Sampling artists as diverse as Hall & Oates, Steely Dan and The Turtles, 3 Feet High and Rising is often viewed as the stylistic beginning of 1990s alternative hip hop (and especially ‘jazz rap’). The album was chosen by the US Library of Congress to be added to the National Recording Registry for its cultural significance and general excellence. 

Containing the singles ‘Me Myself And I’, ‘The Magic Number’, ‘Buddy’ and ‘Eye Know’, the album has been hailed as a hip hop classic and is also listed on Rolling Stone’s 500 Greatest Albums of all time. 

The album is now available for the first time on blu-ray audio via this limited edition release, #43 in Super Deluxe Edition’s SDE Surround Series.

The blu-ray features Dolby Atmos, 5.1 and Stereo mixes created by Rich Keller and overseen by De La Soul, with 6 exclusive bonus tracks (also in Atmos, 5.1 and stereo).
