Diana Ross will release a new album, Thank You, in September. It’s her first studio album since 2006’s I Love You and because that record was a covers album you have to go all the way back to 1999’s Every Day Is A New Day, for a collection of original material.
Ross has co-written all 13 tracks on Thank You with a fairly long list of collaborators, including Jack Antonoff, Troy Miller, Triangle Park, Spike Stent, Prince Charlez, Amy Wadge, Neff-U, Freddie Wexler, Jimmy Napes, Tayla Parx, Fred White, and Nathanial Ledgewick. You can preview the title track below.
The album was recorded in her home studio and Diana Ross made the following statement about it: ““This collection of songs is my gift to you with appreciation and love. I am eternally grateful that I had the opportunity to record this glorious music at this time”.
Thank You is released as a 2LP vinyl set and on CD on 5 November 2021 (was 10 September), via Universal/Decca Records. There is an extra CD on Amazon with what looks like an exclusive slipcase.
