Howard Jones / Like To Get To Know You Well – Live 1983

Cherry Red’s excellent custodianship of Howard Jones’ Warner-era output continues with a full 1983 concert, newly mixed and mastered from the multi-track tapes.

Like To Get To Know You Well: Recorded Live at High Wycombe Town Hall, 1983 is available as a CD+DVD package or a “strictly limited” 2LP set pressed on translucent red vinyl.

The concert was from 22 December that year which explains the inclusion of the festive ‘Ding Dong Merrily On High’ but, as you might expect, the setlist is mostly culled from Jones’ debut album, Human’s Lib. ‘Like To Get To Know You Well’ (which ended up being a non-album single) also features.

This release is based on a VHS from 1984 and it’s on (region-free) DVD here for the first time. The DVD has 9 songs while the CD and vinyl offer 15 audio tracks including a version of the track ‘Human’s Lib’ featuring Howard’s full spoken introduction entitled ‘The Story Of Ruth, David and Den.nis’. 

Like To Get To Know You Well: Recorded Live at High Wycombe Town Hall, 1983 will be released on 18 September 2026, via Cherry Red.
