Dead Or Alive / Youthquake 4CD reissue

Dead Or Alive’s second album, Youthquake, is set for reissue in February next year, to mark the album’s 40th anniversary.

Initially released in 1985, Youthquake was the band’s second album, and their first collaboration with the Stock Aitken Waterman production team. It proved to be a commercial success, thanks largely to the single ‘You Spin Me Right Round (Like A Record)’ which reached number one in the UK singles chart, with Youthquake itself cracking the top 10 on the British albums chart.

The reissue is a 41-track, 4CD box set delivered in a seven-inch deluxe double-gatefold packaging. Given the success of ‘You Spin Me Right Round (Like A Record)’, it is perhaps unsurprising that there is an entire CD dedicated to the track and its various mixes and alternate versions (including dubious 2003 versions).

The third disc offers further remixes while CD 4 delivers the ‘Youthquake Live Tour’ as recorded at the Hammersmith Odeon in July 1985.

Youthquake will be reissued on 21 February 2025 via Edsel.
