The Temple of the King 1975-1976 is a forthcoming 9CD deluxe set which marks 50 years since the formation of Rainbow and the release of the debut album Ritchie Blackmore’s Rainbow.

The set includes the first two studios album, a trilogy of live albums from Rainbow’s debut world tour, documenting the band’s first shows in Europe with shows from Cologne, Dusseldorf and Nurnberg.

A bonus ninth CD offers rarities in the shape of rare mixes, edits and studio rehearsal performances. Audio is newly mastered by Andy Pearce and Matt Wortham and this set comes with a 24-page booklet with new sleeve notes by Rich Davenport reflecting on the impact of the band after Ritchie Blackmore’s split from Deep Purple.

The Temple of the King 1975-1976 will be released on 27 March 2026 (was 6 March) via Edsel.
