NewsHalf-speed mastered 2LP vinyl leads ABBA ‘Super Trouper’ reissue
ABBA’s second best album reissued for the 40th anniversary
ABBA‘s 1980 album Super Trouper will be reissued as a 40th anniversary 2LP half-speed mastered pressing next month, along with the now traditional singles box and seven-inch picture discs.
The group’s penultimate studio album (read the 2011 deluxe CD review) featured two UK number ones in the title track and what many consider to be the pinnacle of their achievements: ‘The Winner Takes It All’. Other high profile tracks include ‘Lay All Your Love On Me’ (issued only on 12-inch in the UK), ‘On and On and On’ (a single in some territories) and ‘Our Last Summer’ (elevated thanks to the Mamma Mia film).

The half-speed vinyl is the usual deal; 2LP set, plays at 45RPM, comes with a certificate and OBI strip etc. The singles box set features ‘Super Trouper’, ‘Lay All Your Love On Me’ and ‘The Winner Takes It All’ on coloured vinyl singles, and all three of those are also available as individual seven-inch picture discs. The 2LP vinyl and the box both come with download codes.
