Chris Rea / Shamrock Diaries coloured vinyl

Chris Rea’s 1985 album Shamrock Diaries is getting a 40th anniversary reissue on recycled green vinyl.

The singer-songwriter and guitarist’s seventh album, Shamrock Diaries delivered Rea his biggest UK hit single to that point with ‘Stainsby Girls’ (which reached No 26) although ‘Josephine’ did very well in Belgium and Holland. The album reached the UK top 20 and was certified silver.

Along with four other albums, Shamrock Diaries was remastered and Rhea-issued as a 2CD set back in 2019, but the album itself wasn’t made available on vinyl. So this 40th anniversary release marks the first time the 2019 remaster appears on vinyl.

Shamrock Diaries will be reissued on recycled green vinyl on 16 May 2025, via Rhino.
