Good news and bad news for Nik Kershaw fans

Some of you will be aware that The MCA Years, the Nik Kershaw 10CD+DVD box that was officially announced back in May, has been delayed.

It was supposed to come out last week, but has now been pushed back to the end of August. That’s the bad news.

The good news is that after absorbing the fan feedback left on SDE, the label (Cherry Red) have added four tracks to the box. They are:

  • ‘Nobody Knows’ (Phil Harding Promo Remix)
  • ‘Dancing Girls’ (DJ Edit)
  • ‘Don Quixote’ (Single Edit)
  • ‘Radio Musicola’ (Single Edit)

There was a lot of disappointment over the lack of the Phil Harding remix of ‘Nobody Knows’ in particular, so these last minute additions I’m sure will be very welcome. At this point I don’t know exactly where these extras will end up on the box (which discs), but there are definitely being added.

Don’t forget that I interviewed Nik for this release last year and in the accompanying booklet he tells his ‘MCA story’ with anecdotes and recollections from this era.

The MCA Years will be released on 30 August 2024, via Cherry Red.
