Bass Communion is Steven Wilson’s long running solo electronic project and The Itself of Itself is his first album under this moniker for 12 years. It is described as “a dynamic listening experience where unease, dread and comparatively claustrophobic torrents of sound make (un)natural bedfellows to moments of enchantment and serenity”. Possibly not one for dinner parties. This CD edition (there’s no vinyl version) has an initial run of 1000 units and comes with a 24-page booklet and OBI-strip.
Lenny Kravitz returns with his 12th studio album. The 12-track long-player is available across the usual formats, although note that the deluxe CD doesn’t include any extra tracks, it just boasts ‘casebound book’ style packaging. There is coloured vinyl and 2LP picture disc editions as well.
