David Bowie / Young Americans Vinyl
“Where have all Papa’s heroes gone?” Young Americans remains one of David Bowie’s very best albums and he made a lot of good ones. Two 50th anniversary vinyl editions are out this week.
Neil Young / Oceanside Countryside Vinyl
Neil Young releases this ‘lost’ album recorded in 1977. Oceanside Countryside is similar – but not the same – as CD 4 in last year’s Archives Vol III.
Jethro Tull / Curious Ruminant (new album)
Jethro Tull’s new album features nine tracks varying in length from two and half minutes to almost seventeen minutes. Musicians include former keyboardist Andrew Giddings and drummer James Duncan, along with the current band members David Goodier, John O’Hara, Scott Hammond and, making his recording debut with the band, guitarist Jack Clark. Loads of formats, the pick of which is probably the 2CD+blu-ray large format ‘artbook’ edition which amongst the extras include an Atmos Mix by Bruce Soord of The Pineapple Thief.
