Well-priced, comprehensive reissue – 3CD+DVD
The latest in Cherry Red’s series of Kim Wilde expanded editions has been announced. Wilde’s fifth album, Another Step, will be reissued as a 3CD+DVD package in August.
Another Step was an international hit on its November 1986 release, not least thanks to Wilde’s high-NRG makeover of The Supremes’ ‘You Keep Me Hangin’ On’, which reached No 1 in the United States, Australia, Canada and Norway (it was kept off the top spot in the UK by Berlin’s ‘Take My Breath Away’).
The expanded edition is a step up from Cherry Pop’s 2010 30-track, 2CD edition. All of the tracks that featured on that version are present and correct here, plus an additional 15 bonus tracks, mixes and instrumentals. Meanwhile, the 19-track DVD features a plethora of videos, live tracks and TV appearances – if you’ve spent the last 40 years yearning to see Wilde’s performance of ‘Another Step (Closer To You)’ on The Krankies’ Elektronik Komik again, all of your Christmases have come at once. What’s more, for such a comprehensive package, it’s well-priced, at under £30.
Also available are a 2CD edition, which has an identical tracklisting to that 2010 reissue, and two vinyl editions of the original album (red vinyl and picture disc).
Another Step 3CD+DVD Expanded Edition will be released on 28 August 2026 via Cherry Red (the vinyl comes via Demon).
