NewsNeil Young / The Visitor
Neil Young will issue, The Visitor, his 39th studio album in December.
The album has been recorded with Promise of the Real, the group fronted by Willie Nelson’s son Lukas. Young worked with them on 2015’s The Monsanto Years.
The satisfyingly grungy and rather splendid Already Great has been made available for our listening pleasure and surely bodes well for the rest of the album. Another track from the new album, the patriotic anthem Children of Destiny, was issued on 4 July this year. That track was recorded with a 56-piece orchestra at Capitol Studios and was made available on streaming services and as a download.
The Visitor will be issued on CD on 1 December 2017 and a 2LP vinyl edition will follow in January.

Plenty of love for Neil on here, deservedly so or maybe not. He is a cantankerous old git but love him we do.
Just ordered in the US, € 17,35 (USD 20,47)including shipping with the cheapest shipping option.
Forgot to tell that I ordered the vinyl edition, shipped to the Netherlands.
I thought the $14 price on Amazon US for the LP might have been a mistake, but I jumped on it when I saw it. I think the vinyl cost less than the CD. When it comes to Neil, who can figure.

If there are any “import charges”. I’m in Canada. Have ordered from the UK, Germany, Italy and the US from Amazon and only the US will add some damn fees.
I went to mail copies of a CD cover (no CD, no jewel case just 2 pieces of paper) to a friend in Canada from the US and our post office wanted to charge me $22! Hell no!
Don’t forget your import charges to pay if buying from Amazon.ca !!
Amazon USA and all the other Amazon Sites where you pay import charges – works them out and takes your import charges upon checkout / Amazon CA doesn’t – as I just got stung a further £30 import charges on Frank Zappas Halloween 77 USB Box Set!
This will be the 4th album release by Neil in about 18months, albeit two of them live, I can barely keep up with this guy.
Its been a good year to be a Neil Young fan, with the two Official Release box sets on CD (unbelievably), Decade and Hitchhiker. Based on those two tracks this should be the icing on the cake. Its a late comer, but it’ll have to be truly great to trump my current album of the year which is Roger Waters Is this the life we really want?
Looking forward to this, one of the few artists that I still consider a guaranteed purchase.
I wonder what bizarre combos deals will appear on his official site – following on from the camping mug with Hitchhiker and a baseball cap with Peace Trail ?
