Lisa Stansfield / The Collection 1989-2003 box set & reissues
Edsel are reissuing all the Arista albums of British singer-songwriter Lisa Stansfield this October.
Each of the five albums, Affection (1989), Real Love (1991), So Natural (1993), Lisa Stansfield (1997) and Face Up (2001), will be issued individually as 2CD+DVD casebound book deluxe editions which will feature the remastered album, rare tracks, remixes plus videos, live footage, specially recorded interview with Lisa. The booklet for each release will boast 28-pages of photos, memorabilia, lyrics and brand new sleeve notes.

The Freewheelin’ Bob Dylan: Vinyl Extra: mono LP and CD combo

Ry Cooder: Soundtracks box set
Rhino will release a seven-CD Ry Cooder box set next month, focusing on the guitarist’s soundtrack work from 1980s and early ’90s.
The music will be presented in a clamshell box and the films in question are The Long Riders, Alamo Bay, Paris, Texas, Blue City, Crossroads, Johnny Handsome and Trespass.

Wham! / The Final K2HD Mastering
K2HD remastering is a new technique that the Japanese have pioneered to try and improve the quality of that stalwart of music delivery, the ‘redbook’ CD.
Developed by JVC and described (perhaps optimistically) as an ‘epoch making’ mastering technology, K2HD is supposed to deliver the ‘ambience of analogue sound’, ‘higher resolution’, ‘lower distortion’ and a ‘richer sound field’.

Mike Oldfield / The Studio Albums: 1992-2003 / 8CD box set
A Mike Oldfield box set of the Warner era will be issued in October this year.
The Studio Albums 1992-2003 gathers together the eight albums released on the label, starting with 1992’s follow-up to the seminal Tubular Bells and ending again with that same album but this time the 2003 re-recording. In between are two further TB-related albums – Tubular Bells III (1998) and The Millennium Bell (1999).

Celebrating Jon Lord box set
Deep Purple co-founder and organist Jon Lord was remembered at the Royal Albert Hall back in April this year when some friends and musicians (Glenn Hughes, Bruce Dickinson, Ian Paice, Don Airey and Rick Wakeman and Paul Weller) assembled to pay tribute to him.
The event was filmed and recorded and earMusic are releasing it next month across a number of formats; CD: Celebrating Jon Lord – The Composer, 2CD: Celebrating Jon Lord – The Rock Legend , DVD, Blu-ray and a deluxe box set which gathers many of those formats in one place.

Universal will issue a 10-disc Stereo MCs box set called Collected in October.
The 9CD+DVD set will effectively be the entire studio recordings of the band and will feature all their albums (remastered, presumably) plus additional discs of remixes and unreleased material.
