Paul Weller will release a new compilation, More Modern Classics, in June.
The new collection spans the 1999 – 2014 era with tracks taken from the albums Heliocentric (2000), Illumination (2002), Studio 150 (2004), As Is Now (2005), 22 Dreams (2008), Wake Up The Nation (2010) and Sonik Kicks (2012). It also features a new single Brand New Toy.

Audio Fidelity will repress the two Kate Bush albums they previously reissued on vinyl over three years ago.
The AF vinyl pressings of Hounds of Love (1985) and The Sensual World (1989) were originally released in 2010 and have been out of print for a couple of years. It looked as if the opportunity had passed to pick up either audiophile reissue at sensible prices.

Jett Galindo from the Mastering Lab recently got in touch with us to point out a few details about Roger Waters‘ forthcoming 5.1 SACD and vinyl reissue of Amused to Death and at the same time Sony issued a press release about the reissue. We thought this was a good opportunity to clarify/discuss some of the details.
The first thing to mention is that engineer/producer James Guthrie has created a new stereo mix as well as the brand new 5.1 surround mix. The SACD will obviously contain both, but since the vinyl is being cut from the original tape masters then the new stereo mix cannot be used for the vinyl pressing.

Universal Music release a previously unreleased track from their forthcoming Grace Jones Nightclubbing reissue for Record Store Day 2014.
Me! I Disconnect From You is a cover of the opening track on the 1979 Tubeway Army album Replicas. It is one of two unreleased songs on CD 2 of the deluxe edition, the other being If You Wanna Be My Lover. Both tracks along with all the other bonus material are also available on the hi-res blu-ray audio edition of Nightclubbing.

Sade’s third studio album Stronger Than Pride is being reissued next month on 180g virgin vinyl with an audiophile remaster courtesy of Kevin Gray at Cohearent Audio.
The 1988 record is being re-released by Audio Fidelity and is strictly vinyl only. If we keep our fingers crossed an SACD might appear, but in truth it’s probably unlikely. The same label released Kate Bush‘s Hounds Of Love and The Sensual World a few years ago, both on vinyl, but neither title made the transition to CD or SACD.
Bryan Adams has announced through his website that a deluxe 30th Anniversary Edition of his 1984 album Reckless will be released by Universal Music in September.
The reissue will contain ‘exclusive expanded bonus material’ and will pre-date a Reckless 30th Anniversary UK Tour which kicks off in November.
The album was the Canadian rocker’s fourth long-player and was an enormous success, spawning six singles (including Run To You, Summer of ’69 and Heaven) all of which reached the top 20 of the Billboard Hot 100.
Reckless deluxe edition will be released on 8 September 2014.

Suzanne Vega’s 1985 eponymous debut is reissued by Culture Factory (France) in June.
Before you ask, no bonus tracks, but the packaging looks good with the full mini-LP CD/vinyl replica/paper sleeve treatment along with a Japanese-style ‘OBI’ strip. These reissued are the larger-sized vinyl replicas not the smaller ones that appear regularly in ‘original album series’-type boxes.

This June, Sony will release a 30th Anniversary deluxe vinyl version of The The’s, 1983 album Soul Mining.
The The’s Matt Johnson personally oversaw the remastering at Abbey Road Studios and this new vinyl-only reissue takes the form of a lavish twelve-inch box set and includes an authentic reproduction of the original LP pressed on 180g vinyl, alongside an extra twelve-inch gatefold vinyl of alternative versions and remixes.
