Last week, we heard the sad news of Liverpool-born singer-songwriter Colin Vearncombe’s death in a car accident at the age of just 53. Back in 2013, Vearncombe, aka Black, whose prolific career spanned four decades and is best known for his timeless classic song Wonderful Life, talked to SuperDeluxeEdition editor Paul Sinclair. Top 10 Wogan music performances

Legendary UK broadcaster Terry Wogan has died aged 77. The Irishman hosted the BBC Radio 2 breakfast show for 12 years between 1972 and 1984 and his popular TV chat show Wogan ran for three nights a week between 1985 and 1992.

The popularity of this show meant it was a highly regarded slot for music promotion, and crucially, unlike Top Of The Pops, acts could perform on the show (virtually always lip-synching) before their single had entered the UK top 40. Here, SDE presents you some of our favourite Wogan performances over the years…

Kylie Minogue‘s four PWL-era albums were reissued about a year ago, but the top-of-the-range collector’s boxes with vinyl LP picture disc, 2CDs and DVDs were always massively overpriced for this writer. Today however, they are available on Amazon UK for about half the previous price.

psb_superlpPet Shop Boys are back and in a couple of months will release a new album SUPER. It’s too early to start writing it off, but the song they’e made available, Inner Sanctum, has all the drama of It’s a Sin, without, er, the song. It sounds like they’ve skipped the ‘album version’ and cut straight to the club remix. Or make that dub remix  since this song has 17 words which are repeated three times “In the inner sanctum you’re a star, the girls, the guys, they all know who you are”. And that’s it.
