Al Stewart / The Admiralty Lights CD

The delayed Al Stewart 50CD box set is out this week. This is limited to 2,000 copies worldwide. The SDE shop has already started shipping its orders, but there’s still stock so if you are interested, go here. Shipped by courier and fully insured.

Queen / The Platinum Collection Vinyl

Queen’s Platinum Collection is re-released as a 6LP coloured vinyl box set.

Tears For Fears / The Tipping Point Blu-ray

The second edition of the SDE-exclusive blu-ray of Tears For Fears acclaimed album The Tipping Point is released this week. The run of 2500 sold out in the two-week pre-order window back in April/May but do check back next week if you are interested, since we may have some leftover due to cancellations/contingency. In related news, UK retailer HMV has an exclusive picture disc of The Tipping Point available in store on 18 June, along with a 2LP vinyl exclusive of the band’s 1989 album The Seeds of Love which features the Townhouse Live Jam Sessions (previously on CD 4 of the 2020 box set) on LP 2. Both products are available online later in the day, but alas it’s UK shipping only.

David Bowie / Ziggy Stardust 50th anniversary half-speed mastered vinyl LP

David Bowie / Ziggy Stardust Vinyl

David Bowie’s 1972 album The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars is reissued as a half-speed mastered vinyl pressing and a vinyl picture disc.

The Beach Boys / Sounds of Summer: The Very Best Of The Beach Boys CD, Vinyl

For The Beach Boys’ 60th anniversary, Capitol Records/UMe are releasing a newly remastered and massively expanded edition of the group’s greatest hits collection Sounds Of Summer: The Very Best of The Beach Boys.

Prince / The Gold Experience CD

Prince’s 1995 album The Gold Experience is reissued on CD. A special 2LP gold vinyl edition is available on Saturday which is the second and final ‘drop day’ for this year’s Record Store Day.

Dire Straits / Money For Nothing Vinyl

Dire Straits reissue their 1988 ‘best of’ with newly remastered audio.

Def Leppard / Diamond Star Halos CD, Vinyl

Diamond Star Halos, Def Leppard’s first studio album since 2015’s Def Leppard was issued recently. This makes an appearance in this week’s ‘out this week’ due to the wider availability of the Japanese SHM-CD versions.  There’s two of them and both have different bonus tracks. Frank Zappa / Erie (6CD box set)

New official set from UMC which offers three complete shows from the vault based on appearances made in and around the Frank Zappa’s home town of Erie, PA. These are Edinboro College and Gannon University ’74 and Erie County Fieldhouse ’76. Includes bonus tracks from the same tours. This features three separate band line-ups, newly mixed from the original 4-track tapes by Craig Parker Adams and mastered by John Polito at Audio Mechanics. Historical essays by Dan Schell & Joe Travers.


Sting / The Bridge (‘super deluxe edtion’)

Not really a super deluxe (although that’s how it’s bring promoted) but rather a new 2CD deluxe of Sting’s 2021 album. The three bonus tracks on the previous deluxe are appended to the album and you get a FIP Session Live in Paris on CD 2.


Northern Songs: Leo Sayer Sings The Beatles (signed 2LP set)

Issued on CD earlier this year, Leo Sayer’s album of Beatles covers is now available on 2LP vinyl and comes with a signed print.
