Foreigner’s 1979 album Head Games will be reissued next month as a 3CD+blu-ray super deluxe edition.
The band’s third album was recorded by the following line-up: Lou Gramm (lead vocals, percussion), Mick Jones (lead guitar, piano, backing vocals, lead vocals), Ian McDonald (guitars, keyboards, synthesizers), Rick Wills (bass, backing vocals), and Dennis Elliott (drums). It features the hits ‘Dirty White Boy’ and ‘Head Games’ and this new edition includes a newly remixed version of the 10-track long-player (the original mix does not feature).
A disc of outtakes and alternative versions features on CD 2 and the third disc offers a previously unreleased live show from the Head Games tour.
The set is completed by a Blu-ray Audio that features a Dolby Atmos remix of the studio album in addition to a hi-res stereo version of the remixed album. This deluxe edition was overseen by Jeff Pilson and Wyn Davis, and features a new essay by Ken Sharp detailing the history of this iconic record.
Head Games will be reissued on 9 October 2026, via Rhino.
Steven Wilson will release his new studio album, Requiem For A Village in November.
Previewed earlier this year in London at a few special Atmos playback events, the album is described as “a haunting, cinematic journey into a village that exists beyond time and place” and as his most “intimate and imaginative work yet”.
I would tend to agree – this could be Wilson’s best record for a decade. It blends dark folk, rock and electronica, as the album unfolds as a continuous 54-minute “film for the ears,” populated by strange archetypes and eerie folklore. The album is narrated by actor David Tennant (‘Doctor Who’) and written with XTC’s Andy Partridge.
SDE exclusive blu-ray with unique slipcase
The album is available on CD, 2LP vinyl and blu-ray audio, with the SDE shop offering an exclusive slipcased blu-ray with alt cover art.
As you might expect there is also a deluxe book edition which is available via SW’s official shop. This 2CD+blu-ray edition has bonus disc with 47 mins of music not on the album and a blu-ray which includes stereo instrumentals and CD 2 in hi-res (neither are included on the standalone blu-ray).
Requiem For A Village will be released on 6 November 2026 via Fiction. Pre-order the SDE exclusive blu-ray with the slipcase or the (very limited) 2LP green vinyl via the SDE shop using this link or the button below.

Siouxsie and the Banshees’ 2004 B-sides collection Downside Up will be issued on vinyl for the first time in November.
This set brings together 49 studio recordings from the band’s career which have been remastered from the original tapes and cut to lacquer by Miles Showell at Abbey Road Studios. The 5LP box includes a 32-page booklet featuring a new introduction from Siouxsie, lyrics, commentary from Siouxsie and Severin and imagery drawn from the band’s original single artwork.
Downside Up – 5LP box set
CD fans are not left out since Downside Up is also reissued on Compact Disc. However, this time it’s a 3CD not 4CD set because The Thorn EP tracks, which were included as a fourth disc in the 2004 release are not included, either here on or the 5LP version (apparently plans are underway for a separate reissue). Similarly, two live tracks from LA radio station KROQ’s ‘Acoustic Christmas’ show in 1991 (‘Swimming Horses’ and Velvet Underground cover ‘All Tomorrow’s Parties’ – both issued on the ‘O Baby’ single) are also omitted from the 2026 reissue.
The new CD packaging is also different, as you might expect. 2004’s longbox styling is replaced by a clamshell package, which comes with a 68-page booklet which presumably shares the content of the vinyl booklet.
Downside Up will be released on 20 November 2026, via UMR / Polydor.

A new 8CD Kajagoogoo box set will be released in November.
The band hit number one in the UK with their first single, ‘Too Shy’, in 1983, and enjoyed further top 40 hits with ‘Ooh to Be Ah’, ‘Hang on Now’, ‘Big Apple’ and ‘The Lion’s Mouth’.
Lead singer Limahl left after the first album and the band eventually disbanded in late 1985 before a period of reunion and reconciliation in the mid-late 2000s.
Box Of Goo: The Complete Anthology brings together the three EMI era albums (White Feathers, Islands and Crazy People’s Right to Speak, issued in ’83, ’84 and ’85 respectively), 2008 EP Death Defying Headlines, two discs of remixes and B-sides, 2008’s Gone to the Moon studio album and Live in Tokyo 1984.
All audio has been remastered by Tony Dixon and Box of Goo: The Complete Anthology will be released on 27 November 2026, via Cherry Red.
NOW’sYearbook 1971 – Extra serves to remind us what a great year 1971 was for rock/pop music.
This 3CD companion set (which, as always, comes in a simple 6-panel card sleeve) features 61 tracks with some big name contributions including from John Lennon & The Plastic Ono Band (Power to the People), Paul McCartney & Linda McCartney’s (the US No 1, ‘Uncle Albert / Admiral Halsey which was not actually a single in the UK), T Rex (Jeepster), Simon & Garfunkel (‘The 59th Street Bridge Song (Feelin’ Groovy)’), Cat Stevens (Moonshadow), Marvin Gaye (Mercy Mercy Me (The Ecology)), and Four Tops & The Supremes (‘River Deep, Mountain High’).
The above are all on CD 1 but other selections on the remaining two discs include Elton John, Jethro Tull, Bob Dylan, Frank Sinatra, Curtis Mayfield, The Supremes, Stevie Wonder, Jackson 5, and more. Some artists get two tracks including Cat Stevens (‘Peace Train’) and Paul and Linda again with another song from Ram: ‘The Back Seat Of My Car’ (a minor hit in the UK).
Full tracklistings are below. NOW Yearbook 1971 – Extra will be released on 9 October 2026.
The pre-order window for the SDE exclusive blu-ray of Dire Straits’ 1991 album On Every Street closes today.
The album features the singles ‘Calling Elvis’, ‘Heavy Fuel’, ‘On Every Street’ and ‘The Bug’. ‘You and Your Friend’ and ‘Ticket to Heaven’ were also issued in some regions. On Every Street was No 1 in the UK and across many countries in Europe.
The SDE exclusive blu-ray audio features a brand new Dolby Atmos Mix by Dire Straits band member and longtime Mark Knopfler associate Guy Fletcher and a 2026 stereo remaster by Miles Showell. Miles has confirmed that this is non-limited audio and is the same high quality source used for a forthcoming vinyl version of this album. The blu-ray also features an instrumental version of the album in Dolby Atmos, the first time the album has ever been available in instrumental form (it’s a wonderful listen).

VIDEO: Live at Metropolitan Stadium, 6 Dec 1975 (103 mins)
The Who By Numbers is the fourth SDE blu-ray of a Who studio album from the 1970s
This blu-ray includes something really quite special: 1 hr and 43 minutes of VIDEO FOOTAGE of The Who playing live at Metropolitan Stadium, Pontiac, Michigan on 6 December 1975.
This was a significant show. The Who set a (then) record for the largest ever indoor rock concert attendance when 76,898 people packed into Metropolitan Stadium in Pontiac, also known as ‘The Silverdome’. Due to the venue’s size, a large closed circuit video screen was installed and four cameras were used to convey instant visuals to the back projection. The images were recorded onto 2″ videotape with the sound captured in mono via a direct line feed from the PA.In 1977 the film was partly used in The Kids Are Alright movie but some 50 years on the entire show has been exhumed from The Who’s Archives and professionally cleaned up, with the audio remastered (it remains in mono). It stands as one of the few complete visual records of this tour – The Who’s last with Keith Moon.
Other formats available including a 5CD+blu-ray super deluxe box set with a 100-page hardback book featuring extensive sleeve notes, rare photographs, memorabilia and archive material from the period. The content of the blu-ray in this box is the same is what’s on the SDE blu-ray. There’s also a 2CD set which the second disc offering ‘highlights’ from the extra content in the big box. A 3LP edition pairs remastered audio on LP 1 with Live at Vetch Field, Swansea 12 June 1976 (LPs 2 & 3). There’s also a single black vinyl half-speed mastered version.

A man from the future is an audio/musical biography of computer pioneer and codebreaker Alan Turing written by Pet Shop Boys with Turing biographer Professor Andrew Hodges.
Originally performed as part of the BBC Proms in July 2014 at the Royal Albert Hall, with the BBC Concert Orchestra, the BBC Singers and narration from actor Juliet Stevenson. It has been revised and rearranged in this new production by Pet Shop Boys and Sven Helbig.
Pet Shop Boys recorded the album in the last year in the UK and Germany. The album features the Manchester Camerata Octet, the Manchester Grammar School Choir and narration from Juliet Stevenson. String and vocal arrangements are by Sven Helbig.
It will be released on vinyl, as a 2CD set and on blu-ray audio. SDE has an exclusive version of the blu-ray which comes with a special slipcase (shared with the PSB’s store).
There are three versions of A man from the future:
Full version, with Neil singing and Juliet Stevenson’s narration
An instrumental version (i.e. no singing or narration)
A version without the narration (includes the singing)
The vinyl edition has #1, the 2CD edition has 1 and 2 but only the blu-ray has 1,2 & 3 in Dolby Atmos and 96/24 hi-res stereo.
I have heard this new recording and it’s a really beautiful piece, fusing orchestration, analog-sounding synths, Neil Tennant’s distinctive vocals and Juliet’s narration.
A man from the future will be released on 9 October 2026, via Parlophone. Pre-order from the SDE shop using this link or the buttons below.

Simple Minds will release a brand new studio album, Sacrosanct, in January next year.
The 8-track album is an apparent retreat to the band’s art rock/new wave roots, but you can decide for yourself by listening to ‘Beginner Boys’ the first song which has been made available today.
Other tracks include opener ‘Elysium’, ‘King Of The Underworld’, and ‘Our Secrets Are The Same’ which “directly explores the lifelong bond between Jim Kerr and Charlie Burchill”
We called the album Sacrosanct because after a lifetime of doing this — nearly fifty years of writing songs together — it’s stopped feeling like a career and started feeling like something closer to faith. Calling the record Sacrosanct isn’t an exaggeration. It’s just honest.
Jim Kerr
Deluxe CD with 5 bonus tracks
A deluxe ‘mediabook’ CD edition includes five bonus tracks (and gives away future ‘singles’) and there’s neon green and black vinyl variants as well. As well as offering ticket pre-sale access (see tour info below), the official store offers exclusive silver marbled vinyl and signed bundles.
Simple Minds have also announced the UK leg of their V Tour (dates in May next year) which will include special guest Gary Numan. They will also headline BBC Radio 2 In The Park which takes place in City Park in Stirling in 10 days, on 13 September.
Sacrosanct will be released on 29 January 2027 via BMG.
Phil Lynott is best known to most as the frontman of Irish rockers Thin Lizzy, but now, 40 years after his death, his solo work is being celebrated with an 8CD box set called The Story Of My Life.
The box set features both of Lynott’s solo albums – 1980’s Solo in Soho and 1982’s The Phil Lynott Album – alongside remixes, rare demos, alternate versions and archive recordings, many available officially for the first time.
The box set is also home to an unreleased album called Fatalistic Attitude. This was effectively an early version of The Phil Lynott Album. It was prepared for release in January 1982 but was considered “too dark” for release and reworked and released eight months later. Using Philip Lynott’s personal acetate copy of the original album (now a private collection) Fatalistic Attitude restores Philip’s intended running order, including two songs that were removed. Several tracks were also re-recorded or remixed, most notably ‘Ode to Liberty (The Protest Song)’, which features Scott Gorham on guitar; another point of difference.
This earlier version also includes an unreleased solo cut of ‘Hate’, originally recorded as a demo by Thin Lizzy in 1978, and ‘Somebody Else’s Dream’, which was later issued as the B-side to the single ‘Together’. Fatalistic Attitude is also being made available as a standalone vinyl LP.
The Story Of My Life is an 8CD Phil Lynott box set
The boxset also sees the first release of solo demos by Lynott as well as tracks recorded by his post-Thin Lizzy bands, Blackmail & Grand Slam, along with unreleased collaborations with Gary Moore, Junior Giscombe, Paul Brady, Huey Lewis and previously unheard rehearsals for Lynott’s 1982 solo tour.
The Story Of My Life has been compiled by Thin Lizzy archivist Nick Sharp and released with the full support of the Philip Lynott estate. It features an extensive booklet with new sleeve notes by Mark Blake, alongside the usual rare photographs and images of memorabilia.
The Story Of My Life and the Fatalistic Attitude vinyl LP are both released by UMR/Mercury on 30 October 2026.
The Faith Tour is an 18-track live album of previously unreleased recordings from George Michael’s 1988 tour in support of his debut solo album Faith. It will be released on various formats including 3LP vinyl, 2CD, 2LP vinyl (shorter 16-track version) and on SDE exclusive blu-ray, in November.
This release captures George Michael at the height of his powers during the iconic 1988 Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy stop on his first solo concert tour and features solo hits from George, including ‘Careless Whisper‘, ‘A Different Corner‘ and all but two songs from the Faith album, alongside Wham! tracks (‘Everything She Wants‘, ‘I’m Your Man’) and some well chosen covers (‘Play That Funky Music’, ‘Lady Marmalade’).
This SDE exclusive (region-free) blu-ray audio hosts newly mixed audio by Wham! and George Michael engineer Chris Porter, in Dolby Atmos, 5.1 and Stereo:
The Faith Tour – Dolby Atmos Mix (48 kHz / 24 bit)
The Faith Tour – 5.1 Surround (48 kHz / 24 bit)
The Faith Tour – Stereo (48 kHz / 24 bit)

Crowded House’s 1986 self-titled debut album will be reissued as an expanded 2LP vinyl set, later this month, to mark the album’s 40th anniversary.
This comes courtesy of Capitol Records’ Capitol Records Club which has curated a 2LP coloured vinyl package (“on ember red and raincloud gray vinyl”) which includes a bonus LP of rarities and a 22″ x 33″ poster.
The album features the timeless US No 2 hit ‘Don’t Dream It’s Over‘ along with the classic singles ‘Mean to Me’, ‘World Where You Live’, ‘Now We’re Getting Somewhere’ and ‘Something So Strong’.
The reissue uses the original 10-track version of the album, as released in Australia and New Zealand with ‘I Walk Away’ one of the bonus tracks on LP 2. There is no word on mastering and if you recall Neil Finn didn’t want the albums remastered for CD, back in 2016.
The bonus LP is very interesting, since it includes six or seven tracks from those now decade old CD reissues which receive their vinyl debut here. The extended mixes of ‘Don’t Dream It’s Over’ and ‘Mean To Me also feature’, which is something of a surprise since friend-of-Crowded House Jeremy Ansell told this writer in 2016 that Neil “didn’t like” these extended mixes, which is why they were not included on the 2CD set of Crowded House in 2016.
This rather splendid looking set is limited to 2,000 copies, and is only available via Capitol Records web shop in the USA. It will be released on 25 September 2026, via Capitol Records.
Amy Winehouse’s 2006 album Back to Black is being reissued for its 20th anniversary as an SDE exclusive blu-ray audio
The album was a huge critical and commercial success, reaching No 1 In the UK, and going on to be the best-selling album of 2007. It’s now the second best selling album of this century in the UK (behind Adele’s 21). Lead single ‘Rehab’ was a transatlantic top 10 hit and Back to Black won ‘Best Pop Vocal Album’ at the 2008 Grammys, with Winehouse collecting a further four awards that night.
The SDE blu-ray features the Dolby Atmos Mix of Back to Black (created by Oli Morgan) and Miles Showell’s 2018 stereo remaster which was prepared at Abbey Road Studios for the half-speed vinyl pressing issued in that year.

Slightly All The Time Recordings 1970-1974 is a new CD box set featuring English rock band Soft Machine.
This comprehensive anthology features 14 CDs and three blu-rays and covers the first half of the 1970s and the five albums (‘Third’, ‘Fourth’, ‘Fifth’, ‘Six’ and ‘Seven’) they recorded for CBS with each one newly remastered from the original quarter-inch tapes. In addition, it includes all of their existing BBC sessions (half of which are unreleased) and a generous selection of rare and previously unavailable concert recordings from Europe (UK/France/Switzerland).
Compiler Mark Powell has unearthed an entirely different set of recordings of their ‘Fifth’ album, as well as over 6 hours of superb audio-visual material gathered from European TV broadcast archives, almost all of which has never been issued before.
Highlights include Paris 1970, Brussels 1971, the complete Berliner Jazztage performance, Beat Club and the BBC TV appearances on ‘An Anatomy of Pop’ and ‘Full House’.
Slightly All The Time Recordings 1970-1974 will be released on 30 October 2026 via Sony Music.
