A new compilation curated by musician, singer-songwriter and record producer, Steven Wilson. Intrigue: Steven Wilson Presents: Progressive Sounds In UK Alternative Music 1979-89 features 58 tracks, and as the title suggests, it explores the creativity, experimentation and progressive spirit of alternative British music from 1979-1989.

A new 6CD box set called People ‘Round Here Don’t Like To Talk About It  brings together ‘The Complete EMI Recordings’ of 1990s British band The Auteurs. An SDE interview with frontman Luke Haines will be published later this week.

The Rolling Stones release a new live greatest hits called GRRR Live! This release features 24 tracks recorded on the road in as part of the band’s 50 & Counting Tour from a decade ago and there’s more formats than you can shake a stick at.

3CD companion set of 80s hits. Delayed from last week (at least on Amazon in the UK).

Demon Records release a 12LP coloured vinyl box set called Blackadder’s Historical Record which features 24 full-cast TV soundtrack episodes from all four series of one of British TV’s best-loved comedies.

This 17CD (count ’em!) box set celebrates the output of British soul/funk trio Imagination and samples some of the solo work of Leee John, the band’s singer / keyboard player.
