All journeys must come to an end, and so it is the case with Rhino’s glorious limited edition coloured vinyl box sets of Howard Shore’s ‘Complete Recordings’ of Peter Jackson’s The Lord Of The Rings franchise. The Return of the King will be issued in September as a numbered six-LP vinyl set and a 4CD+blu-ray edition.

Yazoo / Four Pieces 4LP vinyl box

As synthpop duo Yazoo (known as ‘Yaz’ in the US), Vince Clarke and Alison Moyet issued two classic albums, before going their own way and enjoying further success (with Erasure and as a solo artist, respectively). Thirty-five years on from this this brief, but productive, collaboration, a new four-LP vinyl box called Four Pieces is to be released. It includes both albums, a remix LP and a disc of largely unreleased BBC Sessions.

Nazareth ‘Loud & Proud’ box now available to those in the USA & Canada

The immense Nazareth Loud & Proud box set – which contains 41-discs – was announced earlier this month but fans of the Scottish hard rockers in the US and Canada were dismayed that the official store were not able to ship to their part of the world (presumably due to licensing restrictions). However, there is now a workaround, since Amazon in the UK have listed the box set and they will ship anywhere!

Bob Dylan / Live 1962 – 1966: Rare Performances From The Copyright Collections CD

A strange, but welcome two-CD set that features previously released live recordings from 1962 – 1966 to mark Dylan’s 2018 tour of Australia. It “shines a light on some great performances that were initially overlooked, with most of the recordings now near impossible to find.” The bargain price adds to the overall appeal.

For the fourth year in succession, Parlophone Records will release a major box set that summarises an era in the musical life of David Bowie. This October, Loving The Alien (1983-1988) will feature Bowie’s three solo albums from the period in question, and offer fans plenty of extra content, including a ‘new production’ of 1987’s Never Let Me Down, the first audio release of the Serious Moonlight Tour and a remix album.
