Review: KISS / Love Gun deluxe
Graeme Piper reviews the Love Gun two-CD deluxe reissue from Kiss.
US clown white make-up icons, Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame inductees and larger than life rock titans, KISS, are big business these days. Hitting their 40th Anniversary this year, playing in excess of 2,000 live shows and selling over 100m albums worldwide, they are currently ripping Las Vegas a new one in a month long residency at The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino with their trademark bombastic live show. Not too shabby by any stretch of the studded codpiece.
Continuing to celebrate in style, Universal Music have just issued a Deluxe Edition of their multi-platinum album Love Gun. Originally released in 1977 when, after three years solid touring and recording, KISS had made themselves into larger than life superheroes and become the biggest rock band in America.

This year he was part of The KT Fellowship (aka Kate Bush’s live band for her Before The Dawn shows) which was swiftly followed by a tour of Germany to support his most recent album The David Rhodes Band.

REVIEW: Rolling Stones / From the Vault: Hampton Coliseum live '81
The Rolling Stones launched Stonesarchive.com about three years ago and in that time the site has been delivering great quality affordable downloads (MP3 and FLAC) of classic ‘Stones performances from across the decades that were previously only available via bootleg recordings. What has been lacking is any middle ground. In other words, some affordable physical releases of these gigs for those who aren’t satisfied with just the downloads. For those who want to hold the music in their hands, to coin a phrase.

However, around 18 months before the debut of the musical in London’s West End came Chess the concept album which was highly successful, yielding two major hit singles with the UK number one I Know Him So Well (a duet featuring Elaine Page and Barbara Dickson) and One Night In Bangkok (sung by Murray Head) which topped the charts in many countries and peaked at number three in America.
