Peter Cetera / Love, Glory, Honor & Heart / 6CD Warners-era solo box set
A new six-CD Peter Cetera box set will be issued in May called Love, Glory, Honor & Heart: The Complete Full Moon & Warner Bros. Recordings, 1981-1992.
This box contains Cetera’s first four studio albums with a very generous selection of bonus tracks. In fact, the label claims that this is “every recording Peter Cetera committed to tape during his time with the Full Moon and Warner Bros. labels from 1981 through 1992”.
James / All The Colours Of You
James will release their new album, All The Colours Of You in June.
The band’s 16th studio album was partly recorded pre-pandemic and was produced by Jacknife Lee, who ended up working remotely from his studio and liaising with Tim Booth and Jim Glennie when lockdown hit.

Fawlty Towers: For The Record – 6LP white vinyl box signed by John Cleese
Fawlty Towers: For The Record is a new 6LP coloured vinyl box set that features all 12 TV episodes of the classic British comedy series. This limited edition set comes with a art print of harassed hotelier Basil Fawlty SIGNED by co-creator John Cleese.
This new set is made up from the four original BBC vinyl albums – Fawlty Towers, Second Sitting, At Your Service and A La Carte – and two newly created collections, Plat du Jour and Enjoy Your Stay. Together they form a box of all 12 episodes which have a special linking narration – supplied by hapless waiter Manuel (Andrew Sachs) – which is unique to the vinyl versions and hasn’t been available since their original pressings.

Paul McCartney / McCartney III Imagined – remix/covers album
Paul McCartney‘s 2020 album, McCartney III, is reimagined – or make that III imagined – via an interesting selection of artists including Beck, St Vincent, Damon Albarn and Josh Homme.
All of the album’s 11 tracks have been either remixed or covered by Damon Albarn, Beck, Blood Orange, Phoebe Bridgers, Josh Homme, Khraungbin, 3D RDN of Massive Attack, Ed O’Brien (EOB), Anderson .Paak, St. Vincent and more. You can listen to American singer/rapper/songwriter Dominic Fike’s cover of ‘The Kiss of Venus’, below.

Dire Straits and Mark Knopfler half-speed mastering details revealed
Next week, Universal Music will reissue half-speed mastered vinyl pressings of Dire Straits‘ 1985 album Brothers in Arms and Mark Knopfler‘s 1983 soundtrack to Bill Forsyth’s film Local Hero.
Both albums have digital master tapes, but Abbey Road mastering engineer – and half-speed specialist – Miles Showell talks exclusively to SDE about the detective work required to source the correct tapes in preparation for the half-speed mastering process and some surprising discoveries along the way…

The main issue with last year’s large format, three-CD deluxe package of Neneh Cherry‘s superb 1989 album, was always the price. North of £40 just seemed far too expensive, for what was on offer. However, £25 is much more like it and if you can forgive the error (the ‘Spanish Mix’ & the ‘A Little More Puerto Rico’ mix are actually identical) this is well worth picking up at this price point

United Souls, in conjunction with Sony Legacy Recordings will celebrate the 50th anniversary of Philadelphia International Records with an 8CD box set: Get On Board The Soul Train – The Sound Of Philadelphia International Records Vol 1.
This is the first volume in a limited edition series which covers the first eight studio albums released by the label from 1971-1973. This series will offer all album remastered from the original tapes and will map the history of Philadelphia International Records chronologically.
