A new book about the making of John Lennon‘s 1971 album Imagine – personally compiled and curated by Yoko Ono – will be released in October. Imagine John Yoko is billed as the ‘definitive inside story’ of the making of the album, which is told in ‘revelatory’ detail.

Although we wait in vain for Warners to deliver any kind of Madonna deluxe reissues, they are certainly keeping the vinyl coming, since a few days after The Immaculate Collection was reissued as a two-LP set, a new listing has appeared on a couple of retail sites for a white vinyl pressing of Like A Virgin.

Amazon to block Australian shoppers from its international sites

Australian music fans – who were probably pleased when Amazon opened down under late last year – may now have reason to feel aggrieved, since the online global retailer has announced that due to new GST (Goods and Services Tax) rules, they will no longer ship overseas from other Amazon sites to customers in Australia. This effectively denies Aussie shoppers access to the global marketplace where physical music, and other goods, can often be acquired much more cheaply than locally.
