Let’s talk about Guns N’ Roses…. The reissue of Appetite For Destruction has been announced and the big talking point is the massive Locked N’ Loaded set that costs £850.
But before we get into that, I think the marketing of this reissue has been interesting. Once an announcement is ‘out there’ the record label loses control of the ‘message’ and there is all sorts of confusion.

Universal Music will reissue Guns N’ Roses 1987 album Appetite For Destruction in June and it will be available in a number of formats including a 4CD+blu-ray super deluxe edition, a 2LP vinyl package and an astonishingly extravagant Locked N’ Loaded edition which is packaged in a ’faux leather and wood cabinet’ and contains everything in the SDE plus 14 further vinyl records and an extraordinary amount of non-musical content.

Oleta Adams‘ 1990 album features the big hit Get Here. Tears For Fears‘ Seeds of Love team were at the helm, so this was produced by Roland Orzabal and Dave Bascombe, with songwriting contributions from Orzabal and Nicky Holland. This is a two-CD set with bonus B-sides and remixes, and I interviewed Oleta, Roland et al, for the sleeve notes. The signed copies available via the SDE shop (now sold out) will follow in a couple of weeks.
